Coffee Trees

Coffee trees for farmers in Yemen

The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, “The people of Yemen are on the verge of ascending upon you as if they are clouds. They are the best (people) on Earth.”

£15 – Provide coffee tree seedlings, fertilizer, pipes, a water tank and other farming equipment to a family in Yemen.

Yemeni farmers have been growing coffee since the 15th century, but the conflict has drastically impacted this livelihood. Help us to reinvigorate the country’s coffee farming sector by improving farming practices and profitability. When coffee farmers can successfully grow and sell coffee, their incomes also grow, ensuring their families can consistently eat healthy meals.

With your help, we want to help 100 farming families, about 1,200 people, to rehabilitate land with Yemeni coffee tree cultivation, and help improve water usage.

How your charity will help

Give your sadaqah in Yemen and help us to fight hunger and its causes. When you give £15, you’ll help to provide a farming family with coffee tree seedlings, a water tank, pipes, equipment and maintenance supplies, and technical training.

Our coffee tree project helps existing coffee farmers improve their coffee production with detailed training and support. Eligible farmers chosen for the project are also facing hardship in feeding their families, with priority given to women-led households or families with very young children or pregnant women.

All of our current projects are Zakat-applicable, and you can calculate what you owe with our easy-to-use Zakat calculator.

As a Sadaqah Jariyah, this project will continue to provide an income to the family for years to come – and provide blessings to you, even after you are gone.

“When a person dies, his deeds come to an end, except for three: ongoing charity (Sadaqah Jariyah), knowledge that is benefited from, and a righteous child who prays for him.” (Sahih Muslim)
