Sudan Emergency

Families fleeing Sudan

The Prophet (PBUH) said, “Whoever embraces an orphan of two Muslim parents by feeding him and giving him drink until he is independent of him, Paradise will certainly be necessary for him.” (Malik ibn Al-Harith)

More than 100,000 people have fled Sudan since violent clashes broke out between rival forces on 15 April 2023. At least 600 people have been killed and 5,000 injured in the escalating conflict and millions are trapped without food, water, or electricity.

A staggering 700,000 people have been displaced within Sudan, fleeing their homes in search of safety from the fighting. Help us to protect the most vulnerable children and babies. Be a mercy.

£30 - Provide nutritious food for one orphan for a month.

£45 - Help provide basic care supplies including nappies and baby formula for one orphaned baby for a month.

£50 - Help contribute towards the running costs of the orphanage.

Children in crisis

Sudan has one of the highest rates of malnutrition among children in the world. More than 3 million children are acutely malnourished, and numbers are expected to rise due to the ongoing conflict.

Children are caught up in a devastating and unfolding crisis in Sudan, lacking access to basic healthcare, food, and education – many of whom will now be forced to live in displacement camps as the world comes together in hope of finding a peaceful resolution to the violence. Donate, and help us to support orphaned children and babies. Give mercy now.

Our response

In this crisis, were focused on supporting some of the most vulnerable orphaned children. Working across 5 orphanages, we want to support 371 babies and 79 children, helping them to stay nourished despite worsening access to food and supplies.

When you donate, you’ll help us to provide calorie-dense food, including flour, oil, rice, milk powder, biscuits and sugar. You can also support babies by providing nappies and baby milk.

The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) used to care for orphans, and promised closeness to him in Jannah for those who followed this Sunnah.

Give mercy, and help us to support orphans caught up in the conflict.

Crisis upon crisis

The UN estimates some 3.7 million people were already internally displaced across the country, and one third of the population, 15.8 million people needed humanitarian aid before the outbreak of the conflict almost one month ago.

Now, vulnerable families are being forced to flee their homes in search of safety as airstrikes and ground battles continue in Khartoum, Bahri, and Omdurman. The airport has been shut, and 100,000 people have fled into neighbouring countries.
